How does VMAX maintain your touch screen's sensitivity?
The VMAX Screen Shield tempered glass screen protector has a layer of technologically advanced silicone pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) that allows the screen protector to attach firmly to your touch screen so the sensitivity is not altered.
What is silicone pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA)?
Pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) is a relatively thin flexible adhesive either single or double side coated. PSA will adhere to a variety of substrates when applied to most clean and dry surfaces with pressure. Pressure sensitive adhesives do not require solvent, water or heat to activate the adhesive. The bond is directly influenced by the amount of pressure which is used to apply the adhesive to the surface.
Relative to other PSA types silicone PSA has a low initial tack, but can withstand higher temperatures than both rubber and acrylic adhesive and will bond well with silicone substrates.
Silicone PSA also provides better UV, temperature and solvent resistance than other adhesives.
The shear resistance of silicone PSA is also greater than most other pressure sensitive adhesive types. Shear resistance is the measurement of force required to pull the pressure sensitive material parallel to the surface to which it was affixed.
